Analysis: 'Treaty of Waitangi' Comic For High School Students Has Been Quietly Brainwashing Away Since 2018 (Part 14)

Above and on the left is page five of the comic we have been analysing. Yesterday, I started on page 5, and today will continue on page 5.

HERE is the whole comic.

If you want to know why we are analysing this comic, just refer to blogs for the last few days.

In short, the comic was released into schools in 2018  to brainwash our children.

What is its purpose?

Maori Activists inside the Labour government, particularly the Maori caucus, supported by the Greens and Te Pati Maori, plus a hoard of woke bureauacrats are grooming our children so that when our children leave school and become old enough to vote, they will vote for all things Maori.

In this way, so the plan goes, Maori will be able to legitimately and legally take over the country.  That is to say, they are grooming our children to vote for a Maori takeover.

What’s happening here is exactly what happened in other regimes in the 1920s and 30s, preparing the ground for dictatorship. In the case of New Zealand, it’s tribal rule.

So what is there to say about page five?

—————————–

The comic says ‘very few people spoke English, so a missionary named Henry Williams and his son Edward translated the Treaty into Te Reo Maori. They did this in just one night.”

There is a lot of vital missing information here.

The authors of the comic want their readers to get the impression that the translation was rushed, and therefore not done properly.  Which means?  The chiefs were treated unfairly.

What are the facts here?

First, many of the chiefs in the tent that day could read and write English. Historian Michael Wright explains that “The rising demand for consumables including tobacco, clothing, liquor, seeds, and munitions locked Maori into an economic relationship with industrial age Britain.” (Wright.  The Illustrated History of New Zealand.  Bateman Press, 2013. page 40)

To trade with the English, Maori needed to learn the English language, and many did.

Furthermore, the Treaty was read to the chiefs in English and Maori.  Why? So that the chiefs could judge for themselves whether the translation was accurate or not.

There are no recorded objections, from the chiefs, to the translation.

The accusation has been made by people like Claudia Orange that Williams was a poor translator.  Historian Bruce Moon rejects this strongly.

“Orange claims that the Williams, father and son, were not competent translators although she did know that Williams’ biographer, Hugh Carleton, had said that Edward was a scholar in the Maori language “without peer” which she dismisses as “something of an exaggeration”. This is speculation, not scholarship.” (Bruce Moon. New Zealand. The Fair Colony. P79).

What’s missing from the comic is another vital piece of information.

After the chiefs had discussed the Treaty all afternoon on the 5th of February 1840, inside the tent at Waitangi, with Hobson and Williams and co, the chiefs retired to Tii Marae for the evening, and the Williams father and son went with them.  Why did the Williams’s father and son do this?  To make sure the chiefs understood the Treaty.  Bruce Moon writes:

“When proceedings [on the afternoon of the 5th concluded, the chiefs retired to Tii marae to discuss it amongst themselves, and Williams went with them.” (Bruce Moon. Twisting the Treaty.  The Tribal Grab For Wealth And Power. Tross Publishing, 2014. P35).

From the diary of Bishop Selwyn, we find a vital piece of information.

“Henry Williams reported to Bishop Selwyn.“The instruction of Captain Hobson was not to allow anyone to sign the treaty till he fully understood it. To which instruction I did most strictly attend. That the natives to whom I explained the treaty understood the nature of the same, there can be no doubt.” (Bruce Moon. Twisting the Treaty.  The Tribal Grab For Wealth And Power. Tross Publishing, 2014. P35)

Let’s put all this together.  The chiefs and the Williams father and son spent all afternoon and evening with the chiefs, explaining the Treaty to them, answering their questions. The piece of paper they were discussing filled no more than one A4 page.  That’s a long time to discuss one piece of A4 paper.

Contrary to what the comic implies, the translation from English to Maori was excellent, and the Maori chiefs’ understanding of it the same.

Oh, and by the way, the comic implies that the chiefs were invited after the translation was completed. Again, this is to create the impression that the chiefs were given short notice of the meeting on the 5th of February.  With such short notice, everything was rushed and unfair to the chiefs.

The truth? Invitations went out on the 30th of January to the chiefs.  This is a week before the actual meeting.  Proof? The following is a picture from Colenso’s records of the day

This comic is a key component of Maori activists to take over the country.  It targets children.

In my book TAKEOVER: 18 STRATEGIES MAORI ACTIVISTS ARE USING TO TAKE OVER NEW ZEALAND  I detail all the strategies activists are using.

You can read this book HERE.

In tomorrow’s blog, I will continue the analysis.

See you then!

As I have said, we must get behind Winston, Jones and Seymour, Luxon, emailing them regularly with encouragement and our full support to expunge co-governance and Maorification from New Zealand.

Leaders need encouragement constantly.

Email Luxon urging him to do what the people of New Zealand elected him to do, which was to rid the country of Maorification and co-governance.

Warn him that he will be a one term PM if he doesn’t.

So what is there to say about page five?

—————————–

The comic says “At the time, Britain ruled over a large and powerful empire.”  This is entirely true. Britain, as it were, ruled the world.

According the historian Michael Wright, in 1840 Britain had 50 colonies on the go. “The colonial office [in London] had only 25 odd clerks to deal with 50 colonies.”  (Michael Wright. Illustrated History Of New Zealand. Bateman Press. 2013. p52)

Then the comic says “It decided that New Zealand should become part of that empire, too.”

The authors of the comic make it sound as though the British  just made a decision to colonise New Zealand with no input from Maori.  That is to say, the British just pushed in, and shoving Maori aside.

Is this true? No, it is not.

The information missing from the comic is that Maori invited the British to New Zealand.  Sure, the British had trade interests in New Zealand.  But Maori invited them here too.

Click HERE to read how Maori chiefs in 1831 petitioned King William for help.

Then there are the speeches of the chiefs.

When one reads the speeches of the chiefs who were speaking in the tent at Waitangi on February 5th, 1840, it easy to see that many were calling on the Governor, on Busby, on Williams, on the missionaries to come and be the parents of Maori.  One of the chiefs actually calls Maori ‘children’.

You can read the speeches of the chiefs HERE

So in summary, it is definitely not true that British gate crashed New Zealand.  No. They were invited.
