HERE is the whole comic.

If you want to know why we are analysing this comic, just refer to blogs for the last few days.

In short, the comic was released into schools in 2018  to brainwash our children.

What is its purpose?

Maori Activists inside the Labour government, particularly the Maori caucus, supported by the Greens and Te Pati Maori, plus a hoard of woke bureaucrats are grooming our children so that when our children leave school and become old enough to vote, they will vote for the Maori activist cause.

In this way, so their plan goes, Maori will be able to legitimately and legally take over the country.  That is to say, they are grooming our children to vote for the Maori activist cause.  This comic is therefore propaganda.

What’s happening here is exactly what happened in other regimes in the 1920s and 30s, preparing the ground for dictatorship. In the case of New Zealand, it’s  preparing the country for tribal rule. 

Hitler had his Hitler Youth.

Now we have the “Maori Youth” mirroring them, as evidenced by the actions of Female Hurricanes and the students of a Palmerston North School.

So what is there to say about this picture on page 8?

Today’s comic picture is literally packed with lies, half-truths, missing information, inaccuracies, and truth, it’s difficult to know where to start.

Let’s start with the first line which states “Te Tiriti O Waitangi is in 3 parts called articles.”

Well, the Treaty actually has five parts.  The first part of the five is the Preamble which states the following.

Her Majesty Victoria, Queen of England in her gracious consideration for the chiefs and people of New Zealand,

and her desire to preserve them their land and to maintain peace and order amongst them, 

has been pleased to appoint an officer to treat with them for the cession of the Sovereignty of their country and of the islands adjacent to the Queen. 

Seeing that already many of Her Majesty’s subjects have already settled in the country and are constantly arriving: 

And that it is desirable for their protection as well as the protection of the natives to establish a government amongst them.

Her Majesty has accordingly been pleased to appoint me William Hobson a captain in the Royal Navy to be Governor of such parts of New Zealand

as may now or hereafter be ceded to Her Majesty 

and proposes to the chiefs of the Confederation of United Tribes of New Zealand and the other chiefs to agree to the following articles.

Why did the comic authors not want their student readers to know about this Preamble? It challenges many of the narratives being peddled by Maori activists.

For example, their narrative is that the British came here and raped and pillaged and stole all the Maori land.  Notice the word ‘gracious’.  This is derived from a Greek word ‘charis’ which means ‘undeserved favour’. How were the British gracious towards Maori? 

First, they let Maori have ALL the land in New Zealand.  Cook had discovered New Zealand in 1769 and formally and legally from that date, New Zealand became a possession of Britain.  It was called the doctrine of discovery. 

According to this doctrine, and from this date, legally, Britain could have simply moved in here and pushed Maori aside.  That is to say, arrived here with 10 warships and 10,000 troops, and moved in, wiping out any resistance.

However, several factors led them to decide against this.  First, the missionaries in England were a powerful political force in the 1830s.  They went in to bat for Maori, lobbying the British parliament to NOT trigger the doctrine of discovery as the instrument to colonise New Zealand.  They argued that Maori were children of God.

The missionaries believed that ‘native savages’ around the globe could not live their best lives while practicing cannibalism, infanticide, slavery, and murder.  This described Maori. 

Often the image non-Christians have of the Church today is not good. Observing that many churches have large and lavish builders, they conclude that the Church is as an organisation which just wants your money. The early New Zealand missionaries were not like this. 

Maori were a race who could give the missionaries nothing in return for their labours. The missionaries left a life of comfort and security in England for very harsh conditions in New Zealand – no infrastructure like water on tap, electricity on tap, roads, bridges, cars etc. None of the luxuries of modern life were here for these missionaries. They, often with children in tow, were coming to cannibals.  Any moment they would be killed and eaten by a population of Maori which vastly outnumbered them.  Yet they came.

Professor Bain Attwood, a trustworthy historian, writes extensively about how Samuel Marsden, before coming to New Zealand, sought the protection of Maori chiefs.  Minders.

Bain writes “In 1814 Marden established a mission at Rangihoua in the Bay of Islands, primarily under Ruatara’s protection.” (Bain Attwood. Empire and the Making of Native Title. Cambridge University Press. 2022. P102)

The mission organisations in Britain believed strongly that they could lift Maori from the guttermost to the uttermost through Christian conversion and civilization. This is what drove them. The thought of material gain for the missionaries because of the conversion and civilization of Maori was unthinkable.

Coming to New Zealand and pushing the Maori aside would be a bad witness, instantly cancelling out Maori motivation to be open to Christianity.   The British government eventually agreed, hence their decision to trigger a treaty.

This is just one aspect of the grace of the British towards Maori. There are others. Think of all the material benefits Maori received from the British, at no expense to Maori – roads, bridges, hospitals, schools, government, medicine, reading, writing, modes of transport of various kinds (like the horse which Maori had not seen prior to European contact), eventually electricity, and so on.

Remember, that when Europeans discovered Maori, Maori had been in New Zealand for 600 years or more, and they had not invented even the wheel or shoes.

Today, look at what they have, all provided by, as it were, the British.

That’s grace.

Many would argue that the benefits to Maori of colonisation more than make up for any so called ‘injustices’ Maori have suffered. 

Some even argue Maori ‘owe’ the British.

They make a good point.

Leaders need encouragement constantly.

Email Luxon urging him to do what the people of New Zealand elected him to do, which was to rid the country of Maorification and co-governance.

Warn him that he will be a one term PM if he doesn’t.
