I would suggest the Act Patry is the clearest contrast by far.
We are in the current mess thanks to Winston. He can’t be trusted and has held this country back for decades.
David Seymour on the other hand I believe can be trusted 100%.
Are you nuts. Voting for Winston Peters is just plain crazy. He is the most untrustworthy politician in NZ, and that’s saying something taking into account the bunch of idiots we have running this country now. Try looking at an alternative – ACT. They are not to everyone’s liking but are adamant co-governance is NOT an option
I have been a member of both the National and Labour Parties.
I learned a few things.
1. Neither party has very many subscribing members.
2. A small minority of members are actively involved in the local branches. Usually less than 12.
3. An elite minority of members make the important decisions about which celebrity politicians will be chosen to represent them and what they will do if elected.
4. The most important priority is to win the next election so that the party elites will have authority and control over the rest of the people.
4. There are anonymous financial supporters who hel;p fund the party activities and get “benefits” in return.,
5. The global elites who influence the decisions of the UN and World Economic Forum have a great deal of influence in New Zealand politics.
6. The public persona and image of the chosen political celebrites is intentionally misleading/fake.
We are voting for and being governed by strangers who were chosen by other strangers to represent and work for them.
Both parties have become corrupted by their political success and perceived entitlement to rule us.
Our political system has become an Oligarchy (government of the people by and for an elite minority of the people).
We should stop voting for the National, Lanour and Green parties and their chosen political celebrities to break their monopoly and restore democracy.

We would be better off if we hired people from the monor parties in 2023.
Well thought out post.
Te Reo Luxon champions co – governance over our rivers, lakes, seashore, National Parks and DOC land.
It has all resulted in unmitigated disasters.
Tuku Morgan who buys $78 underpants on the taxpayers now states that as Auckland requires more water from the co – governed Waikato river they will have to go through him for approval.
Worse, our largest national park in the Uraweras is co – governed by King Kruger.
As soon as he received his first $2 million annual payment he trespassed ALL non – Maori and blocked all roads and landing ramps while his tribe vandalized every hut.
Our gutless government stood by and watched – zero prosecutions but more money for the vandals.
Milford Sound and the National Park are next up for co – governance and National support it !!!!!
Only ACT can stop this madness by putting some steel into a once proud party that lacks both a spine and the need to do the right thing for all law abiding New Zealanders.
Absolutely shameful of National to be absent / silent, all the while only speaking about ‘safe’ issues like law and order and inflation. So cowardly. So gutless.
There is no place for co-governance in New Zealand. Co- governance is a euphemism for Maori-Rule and co-governance is in direct conflict with and is a direct contradiction of our Democratic system ,our democracy and our way of life . It reflects a conspiracy by in-caucus Maori activists , together with Tribal-elite outside of Parliament ( nepotism?) and our Ideologically-driven Prime Minister , to bring about effective Maori Rule in New Zealand , together with Maori seizure and commercial exploitation of our key resources and assets. to the major detriment of ALL OTHER New Zealanders . This “coup” in process reflects Maori dissatisfaction with the Treaty of Waitangi as having outworn its usefulness to them, and attempts to “ reinvent” it’s meanings for their own self-interest / advantage —- and includes deliberate misrepresentation of the Treaty and deliberate misinterpretation, all of it “contrived for purpose” .
There is no place in New Zealand for co-governance NOW or in the future.
Both National and Act have democracy as a KEY VALUE underpinning their respective Constitutions. . They overlook this at their peril. They need to GET BACK TO BASICS.. New Zealand must remain about UNITY and COMMON PURPOSE..
Well, National started it by letting John Key sign the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous People when Maori are not the indigenous people in New Zealand.
They then allowed the Constitional Room at Archives New Zealand to be dismantled to hide Queen Victoria’s Royal Charter/Letters Patent that made New Zealand into a British Colony with a Governor and Constitution that set up New Zealand’s political, legal and justice systems under one flag and one law, irrespective of race, colour or creed.
It most definitely does. Too many people have no idea about our true history. There is much well researched information on the One New Zealand Foundation website.
IMO, people have started the “minor” parites because they were alienated from participating in the “major” ones.
The culture, ambitions and agendas of the main parties are dictated by an elite minoprity of influential members and funders.
The political success and power that these minorities enjoy has corrupted them as power and authority always corrupt people.
These corrupted “oligarchs” regard themselves as our “parents” who are entitled to decide what we need to think, say, own and do “for our own good”.
The people in our government are NOT our parents. They are our employees.
We hire politicians to work for us for 3 years and should fire and replace them when they disrespect us and impose their selfish decisions on us.
We pay their wages, perks and pensions and the productive efforts of working people provide the money that they take borrow and spend so extravagantly.
We are electing/hiring celebrity politicians who have been chosen by and are accoutable to an elite political minority of party members and funders.
Voters need to act more like responsible employers than dependent and obedient children. We need to employ new people (from the “minor paries) who will provide us withn real value for what we pay instead of.
1. Imposing more and more oppressive regulations to increase their authority and control over us.
2. Taking and irresponsubly spending our money and putting us into debt to further their own ambitions and agendas.
This co-governence scandal is a symptom of our failure to hire appropriate empoyees to serve us in our government.
Well said Mr Harrison.100% correct!!
Luxon is the only hairless, gutless weasel ,on the planet.
Please grow some hair Luxon as if you continue down the path you have chosen there will be more than a million NEW ZEALANDERS after your scalp!!Make no mistake about it. With out hair your scalp would be difficult to hang, as proof of your treachory. , As your commetary reflects you also have no balls or brains we New Zealanders wont be sitting idle by waiting for the Election on the premise of what you may do If ewlected .
Indigenous or not, 16% ( not 17% as is now the new percentage and even that is seriously in doubt) does not and can not overide the remaining 84% for one simple reason.
“It is illegal and against every principle of democracy to have taxation without representation”
So how can the 84 % be taxed when they have absolutely no say in regard to 3 Waters and Co Governance ? It matters not one jot, what the rights of supposedly indigenous peoples may of may not be, when you consider who pays for all compensation and the day to day funding of a supposedly democratic government.
The Prime minister has no mandate to enforce seperatist principles and empower a minority .she never campaigned on this basis and it is patently obvious that if she did, she would never have reached the finish line.
So why are we all still debating the issue, because it should never have made it through the first reading in the house. The only reason it has is there is no opposition in parliament.
MMP has created splinter groups within parliament that are pandered to and accommodated all at the expense of simple democracy.
Hi Orm, couldn’t disagree with anything you have said. I suppose the Labour Party would say “You gave us the right to give you no say at the last election.” Sheesh.
Great article by Julian, as he states this madness has to stop or NEW ZEALAND will be destroyed. Not scare mongering but words of wisdom.. Teflon Luxon is as evil as the tribal mongrels pushing this co-governance issue, and has to be exposed as the fraudster he is and Julian is on the way to showing that luxon is no better than Jacinta Cindy. here we have two major NEW ZEALAND governments pushing the same ideological rhetoric, contra to 83% of NEW Zealand’s population. Sid Holland will be squirming in his grave.
Most people are dissatisfied with “the government”.
There are many complaints but few solutions.

It will be very interesting to see the extent of influence left leaning teachers will have upon 16 year olds, should they get the vote. Any conservative votes from ‘other’ race , i.e. non Maori students , will be cancelled out by the iwi under co-governance.
Luxon like Humpty Dumpty continues to sit on the wall, a fall is inevitable,. Luxon is not the man and National not the party with a declared mission to lead New Zealand back to sustainable sensibility. The only choice now is to vote ACT
The idea of local co-governance being ok shows a deeply flawed understanding of the principles of democracy and associated process, which should never deliberately permit governance sharing by anybody or group other than those directly elected by an equal suffrage election process. Even regular consultation with Maori tribal entities could be seen as over representation, in conflict with principles of democratic governance. On that basis it sounds like instead of time spent learning te reo Maori, Luxon would do better signing himself up for democracy 101 re-education, alongside many others looking to represent us.
Ron, what I like about you is that you always give a wise, grounded, and perceptive comment. I so appreciate your input. Invariably, I watch out for your comments.
YES! YES! & Most Definitely YES! Social Media commentary emphatically shouts out that “WE MUST DO SOMETHING TO STOP THIS GOVERNMENT”.

hello – this is the reply I sent in response to National’s request for help with party funds from someone called Sylvia (on behalf of Christopher Luxon and the party).
Hello Chris / Sylvia
What a pathetic email. What we really need to know is what is going to be reserved? Not this wishy washy vaguely worded correspondence. People already feel betrayed with the existing party, they not having had a mandate for the majority of what has happened to this country. We need straight words and strong commitments, genuine pledges and guarantees not to bring in unmandated legislation beyond what your party stands for at election time. Totalitarianism or dictatorship is not about democracy, the status quo is one person one vote, and everyone treated equally, as Winston Peters has already pointed out. He even had to go as far as Australia to get heard (Bolt Report) to tell the world what is happening to this country. We are living in dark times, where true reporting isn’t happening. What happened to freedom of the press?
Think before asking for any more donations, people need to know what your party really stands for before putting their hand in their pocket.

needless to say I never did receive a reply, either from Sylvia the fund raiser, or Scott Simpson MP for this area.
I’m not surprised National is for co governance.
In fact I don’t see any difference between National and Labour.
They’ve been bought by much more powerful institutions and that is clear in their behaviour.
Winston Peters is the clearest contrast to National, for sure.
I would suggest the Act Patry is the clearest contrast by far.

Interesting Ray. Very interesting.

I met and talked to some young teachers this morning. They were thoroughly brainwashed.
No doubt the left leaning Maori speaking teachers will heavily influence the vote.
The idea of local co-governance being ok shows a deeply flawed understanding of the principles of democracy and associated process, which should never deliberately permit governance sharing by anybody or group other than those directly elected by an equal suffrage election process.
