This is the second blog about National MP Erica Stanford. Today’s blog will only make sense if you’ve read part one.
How do we know that what Erica Stanford said about ‘Treaty Partnership’ and ‘Co-Goverance’ was official National Party policy?
You can read today’s blog here
Stanford’s understanding of the Treaty is shameful and inexcusable.

Let’s get it straight Erica , National is about Democracy. .
Democracy is THE KEY VALUE in your Constitution. It is why people support and vote for you —- and trust you. Abandon that for co-governance or any form of Maori neo-apartheid governance and National is finished. It is a death wish. Surely you understand all this Government’s Maorification agenda is a conspiracy aimed at Maori control of New Zealand, based around deceit , misrepresentation, invention and lies. and more lies.
NO CO-GOVERNANCE !! Full stop.
Respectfully

Thank you for all your good work Hugh. Perfectly expressed in your comment.
Several months ago at a meeting of the National Party at the Remuera Club I asked Erica Sandford (guest speaker) during Q & A if she believed that the Treaty created a partnership between Queen Victoria and the Tribes.
As quick as a flash Paul Goldsmith grabbed the microphone so that she could not answer. Paul Goldsmith then began discussing the Lord Cooke comments regarding a partnership. The whole question got lost in the distraction. You are quite correct Julian in your analysis of the situation.
We could do with more comments from other National Party MPs, in line with Nationals Policies of coarse.
Even some comments from Act.
Steven, further to my above comment, at a formal dinner several months ago at the Northern Club (Auckland) when David Seymour was the guest speaker, I asked the same question. He answered with a robust NO. Then went on to explain his reasoning. ACT has produced a very good paper which is up on their website. ” Democracy or Co-Governance”

What was the question?
Question was the same as I asked Erica Stanford.
Does she believe that the Treaty created a partnership between Queen Victoria (British Crown) and the Maori tribes.

One person ONE vote – simple innit?
Yeah right! oh dear oh dear !!
How anyone of any Party can find any reference, actual or implied, to a “partnership” in the three Articles of the ToW is purely a “wish” because there are no such references. Additionally, several of New Zealand’s top legal minds have stated categorically that it is legally impossible for a sovereign to enter into a partnership with the sovereign’s subjects. It seems National has unintentionally come clean about its intentions to continue Labour’s undemocratic road to apartheid.
Luxon must stand up and confirm or deny this. In the meantime, no democratically minded person will vote for National, neither Party vote nor Electorate vote. I for one will be voting for ACT on both counts — unless Luxon denounces co-governance in total.
Julian, I so believe in all you have stated. We must stop this treacherous government which is hell-bent on destroying New Zealand. National has to make it clear regarding co-governance where they stand. The Eden Park protest is a marvellous idea but I doubt it is big enough for all of us dissatisfied New Zealanders. Maybe Winston is needed back in government to fight for one people.
