You would have heard about the Kaipara Mayor Craig Jepson who stopped another Maori councillor from praying in a council meeting. Craig did exactly the right thing.

Positioning or promoting the fascinating, primitive Maori language to be used for anything other than ceremonial purposes is downright foolish.
For appropriate ceremonies te reo lends colour and character to our national identity.
However its current use as a symbolic bludgeon to force Maori tribal culture on us all in a rogue Government supported, attempted tribal coup, has cast a swastika like shadow over almost all and any use of the Maori language.
Whilst short Maori prayers as a prelude to some significant events might in the past have been included as colourful accoutrements, now in light of the above they can only be an offensive symbol other than to those who support the coup, either as instigators or useful idiots.
Brilliant Ron. I could not have said it better myself.
The whole “thing”about the Maori language and Tikanga is well over the top. Anyone not knowing , would be lead to believe Maori is the greatest race the world has ever seen. Not true. My information is that in the early 1800s the Maori language consisted of some 800 words only. And there is certainly no valid reason for Maori to try and use their “culture” to try and insidiously impose themselves on and control such situations as Council meetings.
Julian – the link doesn’t work…..
Well said Ron? That’s putting the charade in a nutshell.
Can someone explain to me what they are debating in Parliament?
I have listened to these long speeches in Parliament in English, then the Bill’s name is referred to in Maori, but what does it mean?
If it’s a made-up word, then how is it going to be passed into our legislation? All it will do is end up like the Treaty of Waitangi being translated to see how many dollars Maori can prise out of the taxpayers by changing its meaning to suit the claim.
Come on people wake up, our legislation must be named in English, debated in English, voted in English and understood in English, not pigeon English.
What is happening today will come back to “bite us on the bum” for years to come. It is all based on made up words in no dictionary nor ever used in our legislation before. It’s an insult by all our Politicians of all Parties to allow it to happen.
While the Maori language was once a beautiful language, today’s part-Maori should be ashamed of themselves for destroying it. As the Hon Pita Sharples asked in 2011, “When we arrive in the presence of God, what if he asks us: What became of that noble language that I gave you”? His response will have to be, “Our Maori scholars distorted it to such an extent for greed it could no longer be translated”. The only truthful thing Pita Sharples has ever said in his whole political career!
I absolutely agree with both Ron Segal and ONZF. A coup is most definitely part way through completion. Something dire needs to happen to wake the people up as many don’t seem to know how bad it is increasingly happening. Hobson’s Pledge managed to put a full page article advising people what is going on, in all the larger newspapers. That was great. However I can’t see much improving until they put the simple nullity of a Treaty (Chief Justice Prendergast’s description back in the 1880’s) back in its box. So much is hinging on the great big lie that it is our founding document. It isn’t. Queen Victoria’s Royal Charter/Letters Patent is our true founding document. It annexed us from NSW, made NZ into a British Colony with a Governor, political, legal and justice systems under one flag and one law, irrespective of race, colour or creed. What could be more ‘founding’ than that?
We had the same thing more than 25 years ago when we invited maori to join our charter and they wanted a karakia I gave them a firm “NO way ”
I went on to say ” if we have a karakaia then I want a catholic prayer and protestant prayer ,a Hindi prayer and so and we would never get any business done.
if you want a Kakrakia then you can have one outside the building. Do not expect everyone to bow to your religious beliefs like I don’t expect you to bow to mine ”
I was not all that popular with the PC brigade on the board but those still wearing a pair were well pleased that I spoke up in such a way.
Of course this kind of thing would be seen as racist which it could not possibly be, the objections by me or that Mayor were constitutional not racist, at no time was race referred to or intended to indclude.
Its funny how anything we do or say is now racist yet maori can use race as much as they like and do, but its not racist in their twisted thought patterns..
The most worrying thing about this unarmed civil war is that its very few maori that are the enemy and they ,without firing a shot are beating close to 5. million of us.
What has happened to Kiwis? Where has the ANZAC spirit gone ? Why has the leader of the weak opposition turned into a mouse. How has it been left to you to take up the cudgels?.
We need to meet John traitor keys demand to change the flag and put a pair of balls on it to remind Kiwis that they exist and maybe when they find them they may rise up.
It was encouraging that Brash got enough donations to run his advert in just a few days. So there may bit a slight testicular clang in NZ
Alastair
Yeah I chipped in to help wake folks up to this con.
I am hoping they get concerned enough to find this site, come to a meeting, be awakened to the trickery and lies surrounding TOW, learn about the Royal Charter (the truth) and ONZF (gatekeeper/guardians of truth), get bloody angry and look around for a pitchfork.
I once stopped’ a karakia at a local Ratepayers’ Meeting (I was the Chairman) on the basis nobody else understood what was being said; they’ never attended another Meeting – reaaly useful & constructive !!
This was an interesting comment by former Labour Minister, Hon Matiu Rata on the ABC Programme, “Four Courners” in 1990 “When Maori people’s faith in the rule of law was destroyed, it introduces such thoughts as civil war”. What happens when the people of New Zealand’s faith in the rule of law is destroyed? I will leave the answer to you!
Thank goodness there’s a General Election on the horizon – and according to the polls the current collection of Racists in charge of this once wonderful country will be kicked to the kerb.
BUT – please focus some attention on the GREEN PARTY, who will gather a lot of votes from disaffected labour voters, and from the collection of do-gooders who think that the Green Party has the answers to the supposed ‘threat’ of climate change.
A VOTE FOR THE GREEN PARTY IS A VOTE FOR THE FASCIST RACISTS IN THE LABOUR PARTY – let’s try to alert the soft-brained voters out there that danger lurks in supporting the Green Party
