Maori activists often demand everyone else be ‘sensitive’ and ‘respectful’ of their culture.
But I ask the question ‘But why?’

Most people are far too polite /brainwashed or whatever to do such a thing but there are some things you can do.
1. Complain when people writing to you use a language that you don’t understand.
2. Do not comply when people try to coerce you into joining in (and approving) of maori greeting prayers etc.
3.Talk to people and when you do always raise the specter of a Maori take-over and when it will mean for them personally.
4.Education yourself about the historical truths that they are attempting to alter and lie about.
Thanks Roger. I will use your four suggestions in a future blog. Excellent. These are short and sweet, and easy to follow. And so so relevant to our current situation
If you get confronted with maori jargon in being so addressed in a letter or anywhere else,
respond that you find what the writer has written to be “culturally offensive” which I am sure is true in most cases.
That should set them back on their heels somewhat.

Well said Bruce. Please read the suggestion below in the comments by Roger Strong. I know you will agree with him 🙂
