I just received an email from my Ngapuhi elder friend Tane Tapuna. He has an English name also – Tony Blomfield.

The email is disturbing, to say the least.

It’s a plan for Maori to take control of a vast area of coastline in the Hauraki gulf used by recreational fisherman / women.

Maori will be able to fish the area, but Europeans won’t.

Labour has already made public plans to give all DOC land to Maori. We know that.

So the next step after taking control, is Maori ownership. This is a coup.
