I think that you are being much too harsh on Michael. He has been in there fighting for a very long time now and he is even older than me!
You seem relatively new to the debate and while I agree with most of what you say- many of us have been saying this for a very long time now and Michael is certainly one of those. Also as an historian he tends to speak in measured terms anyway. His writing is very much like that and extremely well thought out as well.
Sean Plunket is far different and has shown himself to be much less open to idea as witness his response to anything he disagrees over Covid. I listen less and less.
Thanks for writing in Roger. Kiwis are known for being ‘nice’. No would argue that being nice is not good – under ordinary circumstances. But right now, our country is being overrun. These are not ordinary times. To be effective in stopping this, something has got to change. What do you suggest? Don’t get me wrong. I like and admire Michael a great deal, as I said. But somehow, being ‘nice’ means nothing to the Maori radicals, and has done nothing to stop them. They just laugh at the nice guys, and carry on, completely ignoring what they are saying. We must remember, the allies did not defeat the Germans in WW2 by being nice. This is war.

There is only one way we will stop our democracy from being destroyed by Ardern and that’s to do something about it ourselves.

While all these groups continue to repeat the wrongs of Prime Minister, Hon Jacinda Ardern over and over again, not one group gives a solution to the problem!
I have read the articles over the years from Hobson’s Pledge, NZCPR, Bassett, Brash & Hide, the Democratic Action Group, the New Zealand Taxpayer’s Union, and many others, and while they all repeat what most of us already know, not one word on how to fix the problem!
There are only two ways to legally stop our democracy from being destroyed and that is by, “A Class Action Lawsuit”, so why not give it a go? What have we to lose?
1. Replace the Treaty of Waitangi with the 1840 Royal Charter as our Founding Document. There is no other document in our history that comes anywhere near to a true Founding Document and first Constitution than Queen Victoria’s Royal Charter/Letters Patent dated 16 November 1840.
2. Repeal the signing of the Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous People. There is no evidence that Maori were the indigenous people of New Zealand and Government does not have a definition. It also goes against the Treaty of Waitangi, Queen Victoria’s Royal Charter, our Constitution, and legal arrangements.

If these groups really wanted to stop New Zealand’s democracy from being destroyed, then they must all join forces and find a lawyer who is prepared to set up, “A Class Action Lawsuit” to repeal the “Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous People” and replace the “Treaty of Waitangi” as our Founding Document, with “Queen Victoria’s Royal Charter/Letters Patent”, dated 16 November 1840.
While we will have trouble finding a lawyer prepared to give up the goose that lays the golden egg, surely there is one with a little more loyalty to his country than hi$$$$$$$$ pocket!
But we must try if we want to,

Excellent suggestion from Ross Baker. Everything else has been tried but the Maorification of our country and complete takeover by those with some Maori ancestry continues at an even faster rate under this current regime. Surely there is a lawyer out there who would take this on. I really fear for our country unless this happens.
I agree. Smallish independent groups need to unite with one common goal, strategy and implementation.
Ross, why don’t you take the class action? Try Stephen Franks. Google him. He is very against what’s going on.
Well said Ross Baker. I would also suggest Stephen Franks as a starting point. If he is unable to look into it himself he at least would be able to provide other names.
“We the people” do need to unite against this tyranny and if your suggestion is doable unite to fund it
I think you would do well to find the lawyer, find out how much it would cost, how long it would take from start to finish, then start fund raising. People will not give until they have all this detail.
Julian, whilst still too “nice”, Michael is certainly not pulling his punches as much as he was a few months back. Possibly as close to an angry Michael as we’ll get.
I would love to see him get wound up though.
Again Julian, very much have to agree with your commentary. Such critical points about treaty drafts and translations and how we’ve been bamboozled.

Which perhaps should be somewhat qualified as being a Lotto win for the Maori people, and the death knell of Maori culture. Or should have been, the latter that is. As Maori culture (tribal, anamism, illiterate etc) is largely incompatible with a modern society. So incredibly foolish to try to resurrect that primitive culture, as though that would somehow be beneficial

In reply to Roger Strong. IMO, the time for niceness is past. The take over is on a role, and it is very clear to me where we are heading. Next step is is to change the constitution to replace the monarchy with a rebublic and the head of state will be the Governor General who just happens to be a Maori academic/radical. Then we enter a long period of “Righting the wrongs” First all the central and local government assets get returned to Iwi. Then over a decade it will be decided that all private ownership be taken over by Iwi. All Government contracts will go to Iwi company’s, and so on it will go. With the Queen barely in her grave, the republic idea with the head of state being the governor general was being socialized in Wellington, and recent articles wreitten by Maori Academic activists are stating clearly the claim to own all of the land and its assetts. The time for niceness is over Roger.

Yes I agree Julian, I too was dissapointed with the gutless direction of this interview with Bassett.
Mind you I never had a lot of time for Bassett probably due to his time and contribution to that theving,lying, theocracy, organisation called the Waitangi Tribunal.Which he was well paid for,.

I just cannot come to terms just how quickly we have become a world recognised leader in many aspects,to a third world Country governed by Political Party of F/wits and an opposition which is gutless and brain dead.You could not write a better bullshit story if you were paid.

Moving in another direction re change to hate speech laws.
If war broke out tomorrow how could we shoot the enemy if we can’t use hate speech against them. Surely killing someone is far worse than saying hateful things about them.
