Was Erica born knowing this? Or did somebody feed her this ‘disinformation’?
Does she disclose why she disagrees with Cooke P in the “Lands Case” where he said that the Treaty is NOT a partnership, while somewhat like a partnership in requiring good faith on the part of both sides?
This seems to be an extraordinarily dogmatic position for a politician who is neither a lawyer nor an historian. Do you think it’s possible that her stated position might be driven by ideology rather than by careful research?
So National believe there is a partnership between Crown and Maori do they? Fanciful, as nobody can be in a partnership with a sovereign.
Can they please provide definitive evidence in the TOW document that said that that was noted in that original document,
Like half the country I am in despair that National is so far off the mark in considering the state of the country. I will vote ACT as those candidates are right up with the play, but I know we need National to meet the needs of the unthinking, to make up the numbers.
But FGS Erica Sandford – get with it!
I think NZ First and Peters, is a much better option. Check out Peters interviews on The Platform and his facebook page. my goodness Peters approach to “stopping Co-Governance” is amazing
Just FYI – ACT is the only party that has said they will define the treaty in an Act of Parliament, take it to the people via a binding referendum and make it supreme law so it cannot be undone again – NZ first is not proposing this… seems a simple choice as this issue needs to be permanently fixed
Just what the country needs, more brain dead politicians . This better not be the view of National otherwise don’t vote for them if you value democracy.
Don’t vote National, they are just ‘Labour Lite’.
This is the trouble you get with MMP, the politicians owe their allegiance to the Party alone because of the Party List ranking. The closer to number 1 the better because you have a job for life, Electoral Seat or not. They don’t give a damn about the people who ‘vote’ for them as it’s the Party Vote that matters. They lose their Seat but they please the Party Machine and they still stick around.
Luxon doesn’t care about the trampled rights of Kiwis who stood up against the jab Mandates and were forced out of Professions and careers in order to protect their bodily autonomy and precious health from an experimental synthetic mRNA injection.
He recently told a group who had been trying to raise awareness outside his Electoral Office that he couldn’t care less and when challenged by them saying that they were his voters, answered that, “I don’t need your votes, I have the numbers!”
That’s the quality of the man, the so-called Leader of the Opposition – What opposition? is what I say to that!
My thinking is. Vote ACT to give a real shock to National and “other” parties. If ACT becomes the King maker, then they say they will remove some of these Labour policies. Increase the profile of co governance at every opportunity to raise awareness of co governance and the perils of this.
Headline : “National MP Erica Stanford Saying That The Treaty Is A Partnership With Iwi”. Then, ‘Read the post’ – which then goes directly to ‘Submit a comment’’! ??
Either Erica hasn’t read the treaty or she’s playing for votes. Given the divisions to our once harmonious society that, so corrosively, have been unjustifiably created and inflicted by the likes of Jackson, Mahuta, Tamahere et al,, and the absolute rubbish that’s now being pandered to our children in schools from “revised history” the last thing we needed was for a National MP to spout such a brayingly inane and nonsensical line as party policy.
Until I read this crap thought Erica had leadership potential. I don’t for a moment any longer.
National dont need peop[e like her dragging them down. Surely they have learned a lesson from signing the UN Indigenous Persons document because of the influence of their Maori Party cohorts? National is going to be the next govt in spite of themselves because the country is fed up with Labours treasonous acts behind our backs. National Party bosses need to grow a bigger pair and repeal all the racist legislation and disband the Waitangi Tribunal for the good of the country.

If this is Nationals stance on the Treaty then sadly as a National Voter for 50 years I will not be voting for them this Election.

Man is she uninformed. She needs to do some research perhaps some one could give her some books.
Stanford just lost my vote for National.
